Figuring out how to set expectations with clients and learning ActionScript (this was 10 years ago).
What should a young designer do in order not to get hired by anybody?
Put all of the work they’ve ever done in their portfolio.
Are there any things you wish you knew at the beginning of your career?
I wish I knew about the pathfinder tool in Illustrator.
Are there any rules or habits that help you do your job more efficiently?
I rigorously schedule my time. Never underestimate what can be done in the span of five minutes. Just do it.
Would you recommend some books that young designers might find useful?
Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life  by Anne Lamott.
